Egypt is gaining momentum in the global apparel market, while Türkiye’s garment industry is facing increasing pressure from weaker demand and rising competition.

Egypt’s ready-made garment exports increased 15% year-on-year to around US$1.15 billion during January–April 2026. Exports to both the US and European markets recorded strong growth, highlighting Egypt’s growing role in international apparel sourcing.

In contrast, Türkiye’s apparel exports declined 4.6% during January–May 2026, reflecting weaker global demand, cautious buying and cost pressures.
